Risk Assessment / Violence Risk Assessment / Sex Offending Risk Assessment
Utilizing collateral records and actuarial risk assessment instruments, an individual's risk for reoffense in a particular area such as sexual reoffense can be evaluated. Given the nature of actuarial assessments, specific collateral records are required to complete such assessments and such referrals cannot be accepted without the necessary records. Most evaluations may include the following:
- Review of background records and history (e.g., criminal history records, psychiatric / psychological treatment records)
- Background information: social history, psychiatric / psychological history, medical history, substance abuse history
- Clinical interview(s) of defendant
- Psychological testing (e.g., VRAG)
- Review of testing results, static and dynamic risk factors, protective factors and recommendations for managing risk
- Conclusions
